Melting away!

Its so hot Im dying a bit. Today its all about packing, doing new ipod playlists and charge the battery on my camera. Its 14.00 and Im still walking around in my knickers and one of AJs shirts. Shame on me! But Im almost done packing and cleaning up and when I have, Im going to the river. The river is the only safe place to be on days like these. Why? Well simply because its colder there. Its so hot my skin is melting and when the sun shines it shines straight in to our front room. Where Im sitting now. The lazy part of me tells me to hide frome the heat in the coolest area of the house, eg the diningroom. I could cuddle up there with my laptop and watch season four of “Bones” and pretend its raining outside, but the Swedish part of me wont aloud it. The Swedish part of me is used to being outside as soon as the sun is out and properly enjoy the sun, because before you know it, there will be snow again. The lazy part of me tells me to sit on a bench reading while the Swedish part of me tells me to take a proper long walk. But after arguing with myself back and forth i decided to go with the lazy parts second suggestion. To sit by the river and read a book. Even the Swedish part of me had to agree in the end that taking a proper long walk in this weather would be more hassle than its worth.

Its that kind of sticky hot today. Im guessing there will be rain tonight or tomorrow. Everything goes slow and seems to stick to your body like an old cough drop in the bottom of an old ladys handbag.

I took a shower less than an hour ago and I already feel like taking another one.

Tomorrow I will go to Portugal, so I dont know when and how I will be able to update the blog. Will do my best though.

Michael Jackson dead?!

Just saw the news now. Michael Jackson has died earlier today and I am shocked. Not that I was such a big fan of the guy, but he was the king of pop goddamnit! Theres no denying that.

So I guess the memory issues is about to go to print asap. Well…I guess there will be weeks of storys and “which MJ song is your favourite, vote on our webpage!” to “look forward” to.

Jacko you weird fuck, I hope you rest in peace.

The Streets!

Ok, so on tuesday I went to Brixton to meed up with IL and see The Streets at Brixton Academy. We got there around 19.30, and foolishly went inside. Turned out once inside, we couldnt step out for a smoke, but we had to wait until 21.00 before the smoking area opened! The band playing before The Streets was hideously bad. Like Brixton reggae and really really bad. The Streets went on at 21.30 and by then both me and IL (old ladies as we are) where both tired and sweaty. Plus we had to stand in a crowd filled with pikeys (no surprise there…). When Mike Skinner got on I couldnt belive my eyes! Not only had he gotten fat, but the clothes he was wearing! He had jeans shorts on that was just above the knee, some old washed out T-shirt, a weird jacket that made him look even fatter and an old ladies hat! He looked like he was wearing those kind of clothes you wear when you are about to paint a house and wear clothes that it doesnt matter if they get paint stains on them.

We stayed for the first three songs and said if the fourth song was a hit, we would stay. It wasnt. So we left. After three and a half song. Might have something to do with the sound being awful, but from now on, I rather listen to The Streets in my ipod than onstage.

Today i went to my interview which was a big cock up. I will get very surprised if I get to the second rounds of interviews and even more surprised if I get the job. I would love to work there though, the place seemed amazing. Well I just have to wait and see…

Utterly, butterly bored

Had the builders coming by on saturday…at 10 in the morning without warning. The guy said that would call me on friday afternoon to decide a time to come. When he didnt do that or reply to my text, I assumed that he would not come, or at least call during the saturday. No, at 10 in the morning our doorbell goes off. I am by this point still naked in bed and asleep. Managed to get up and get a robe on I open the door and see not only the builder, who is about 25-30 a bit pikey looking, he had a friend with him. Another builder, about 55 yrs, missing a couple of theeth with large tatooed arms… those are the people i stand before in AJs robe, just woken up. So what do I do? Ask them to wait outside while I run in and get dressed and then show them around the flat. While Im up pointing out stuff that needs to be done, what do my other half do? Goes back to sleep! Bastard!

AJ left pretty early to go to a stagdo that ended quite badly (unfortunately Im not allowed to tell you more, cause its an EPIC story!) and I was left alone with builders…

Spent most of the day watching “Grand Designs”. Such a granny show I know, but I love it! Its basically a show where a couple buys a 300yr old barn (or simular) and then rebuilds it in to their home. There was one episode in particular that i did love. It was a family that bought a 15th century castle way out on the country side. The castle was mainly a ruin. There where walls and no roof. No middle floors and it was trees growing inside…But after two and a half years hard work and £600.000 spent on renovation, it looked amazing. AJ teased me a lot when he found out about my love for the show, but I just have to say that a man that takes a ruin and spends a fortune to get it renovated is amazing!

So…got an interview coming up on thursday…If I get that job, my moneytrouble will be over so Im holding all my two thumbs for that I will get it. And in other news, going to portugal on sunday, not so bad huh? Ok MUM is paying but still, going abroad, tralalalala!

Cats calling…dinnertime.

Eh…Midsummers eve?

Just realised today that it was Midsummers eve yesterday, something that we celebrate in Sweden every year. When I lived in Sweden I used to do something every year, like going to some island celebrating a proper Pripps midsummer and so on but these past two years…nothing.

I used to love midsummers eve, but apparently not enough forgetting it like this. Ah, well!

Exercise!

Have just been out walking for an hour and a half with IL, hurrah! Now I can eat chocolate without feeling bad about it! Hurrah again!

And tomorrow the builder is coming! AJ and I have a very small patio and on that small patio is a very large storage box that take up almost half of the patio area. Having a storage box makes sense when you have a large garden and need somewhere to stash sunchairs and stuff, but when you have a patio on 10m2, it doesnt make sense. But lucky for us, our landlord has a builder that we can call whenever who takes care of this sort of stuff for free!

And in other not so interesting news, I have gotten a new email from Vesslan, now avaiable on http://www.metrobloggen.se/jsp/public/index.jsp?article=19.10116813 only for swedes, but please check it out.

I love, love, LOVE IL! Thank you for being a part of my life!

Claim denied

Ok, so I did not get my jobseekers allowance so am now poor and not even eligable for benefits (unlike teenagers who gets pregnant just so they can get a flat for free from the government). BUT I see light in the end of the tunnel, Im going to an interview next week for a job that pays loads! If I get it will say. So Im hoping for the best.

IL came by yesterday, which was amazing! We got drunk and talked loads of shit, just what I needed. Right now I have a purring kitten in my lap and life feels not so bad. How can anyone be sad with a kitten curled up in your lap?

Sulky poets

Have been spending the recent free afternoons by the river writing. Im turning in to one of those sulky poets who sit by the water and gets inspirational and write! Oh lord, a housewife and a pretentious writer all wrapped up in to one! Like a Jane Austen character only with leggings and Ted Baker flipflops. Something needs to be done!

Pikey bbq!

Yesterday, AJ and I had a pikey bbq. We have a tiny patio with (so far) no patio furniture and the place is in great need of a jetwash. Lucky for us, AJ decided to get rid of some clothes which we packed in black garbage bags and then used to sit on.We dont own a bbq yet either so we had to buy a disposable one from Sainsburys. But we had a nice bottle of “champagne” and burgers, plus the sun was shineing so it was ok in the end I think!

Realised today that yesterday was actually mine and AJs 14 month anniversary! Congrats to us and what a nice way to celebrate. Well, Im still out of a job, so its gonna be noodles for us until I get one, but when I do, Im going to IKEA! To buy patiofurniture that is…

In other news…well not much new actually…Well i guess thats the way it is when youre unemployed…will stop nag about it…now…or not now, but now…or later.

Cheerio!
